Meowdoku Solver
For Meowdoku, where each row, column and color gets exactly one cat. Add a screenshot, fresh or half done, and get the next move with the reason for it.
Or drop it here, or paste it. The screenshot stays on this device.
How to use
- Take a screenshot of the board in the game.
- Add it here. If something looks wrong, open Check board and compare the colors, cats and X marks.
- Get a hint, make that move in the game, then come back for the next one.
Rules
- One cat in every row and every column.
- One cat in every color.
- Cats can’t touch, not even diagonally.
- Your X marks are notes. They never decide the solution.
A board is a square grid split into as many colored regions as it has rows. Puzzle fans know this type as a one-star Star Battle.
How the hints work
Each hint is one move with one reason. The first hints fix X marks on cells that need a cat, and cross out the cells around cats already placed. After that the solver picks the most useful move it can explain: the only spot left in a row, a color locked to one line, groups that fill the same lines, cells every option rules out, or a short what-if chain that ends with a row, column or color that has no room. Open Why to see the reason on the board.
Every hint is checked against the board’s one solution before it’s shown, so a hint never tells you to place a cat that doesn’t belong. When no simple rule applies, a full search proves the move, and the hint says so.
Limits
- The screenshot reader was tested on iPhone screenshots of the game. Android screenshots, other themes, photos of a screen and blurry images may need a fix in Check board, or Adjust crop to mark the board’s edges.
- The board must have exactly one solution. If a placed cat is missing or a color is misread, the solver says so and hints wait until the board is fixed.
- Your last puzzle is saved on this device for 30 minutes, so you can switch to the game and come back. The screenshot isn’t saved, so after a reload add it again to compare or re-crop. New screenshot starts a new board.
