Password Solver for Everyday Puzzles
For Password in Everyday Puzzles, with 4 to 6 letters and 6 guesses. Enter the colors after each guess. Every suggestion fits all the clues so far, so it’s safe in hard mode.
- Guess 1: TALES. Tap each letter to set its color.
- Not in word
- Wrong spot
- Right spot
Common, different letters tell you the most on the first guess.
How the colors work
- Green: right letter, right spot.
- Yellow: in the word, wrong spot.
- Gray: not in the word, unless another copy of that letter in the same guess is yellow or green. Repeated letters are counted one at a time.
How it picks a guess
It keeps only the words that would have shown every color you entered, and suggests the one whose colors would split the rest most evenly, so each guess rules out as many words as it can. Ties go to the more common word. It looks among common words first and tries rarer ones only when none fits.
The first guess is always SALE, TALES or TRADES: common words with different letters, which tell you the most at the start.
Limits
- The solver’s word list only approximates the game’s, so the game may reject a suggestion. A rejected word doesn’t use up a guess.
- When no word fits, a color is usually off, often on a repeated letter.
- Your guesses and colors are saved on this device for 30 minutes, so you can switch to the game and come back. Start over clears them.
