Cryptogram Solver for Everyday Puzzles
Add a screenshot of the quote, fresh or in progress. Get every letter that’s sure, and the likely words for the rest.
Or drop it here, or paste it. The screenshot stays on this device.
Rules
- Each number stands for one letter, and different numbers stand for different letters.
- A letter keeps its number under it until every tile with that letter shows.
- On hard puzzles some tiles are locked: they hide both the letter and the number until they unlock.
- The game rejects a wrong letter and counts a mistake, so every letter on the board is right.
How it solves
The solver fills every word from an English word list, keeping each number to one letter, and prefers common words. A name or a rare word can stay open without blocking the rest. A letter is marked sure only when every answer close to the best one agrees on it, so a sure letter is safe to enter. Where answers differ, the word shows its options, most likely first.
Limits
- The screenshot reader was tested on iPhone screenshots of the game. Android screenshots, other themes, photos of a screen and blurry images may need a fix in Edit board. For a quote that scrolls, add one screenshot per screen, each sharing a row or two with the last.
- Names, rare words and short quotes with repeated words can leave several options open. Context usually decides.
- Your board and your picked words are saved on this device for 30 minutes, so you can switch to the game and come back. The screenshots aren’t saved.
